This section gives simple and practical information on how to reach La Laguna from different points.
You can travel to La Laguna by different means of transport. Once on the island, going by car is quite a convenient way of moving around. You can use it to reach the town’s historical centre, the Anaga Rural area and other country areas.
As for buses, there is a bus station, the Intercambiador, where you can get all the buses going to different parts of the municipality, as well as information about the different travel card options.
The tram is a groundbreaking travel option in the metropolitan area. La Laguna is lucky enough to have a very efficient connection by this means of transport. See timetables and fares here.
Tenerife has two main airports. La Laguna is easily reached from either although Aeropuerto del Norte is much closer, just a few minutes from the historical centre. Please see their website and location here.
The island can obviously be reached by sea too. Tenerife has two major ports, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, a few kilometres from La Laguna; and Los Cristianos, under an hour’s drive from town.
