Corpus Christi

This is one of the oldest religious festivals on the island. Corpus Christi is on the Thursday after Whit Sunday, but the event is held on the following Sunday to adapt to working hours.

Families, associations, schools, groups, etc. participate in the making of wonderful flower carpets on the streets of the town centre.

On the eve of Corpus carpet makers start drawing and making carpets on the floor. They work throughout the night. The procession takes place after mass. La Laguna people are truly fond of this festival and they throw flowers from the balconies as the procession goes by.
