Few to go and the \u201cmore\u201d best!] <\/i>hawked down La Laguna stately streets and in other Tenerife towns the unmistakable vendors of these delicious pastries, which they carried in big <i>balayos<\/i> [flat baskets] over a pad on their head\u2026To bake them at home you\u2019ll need:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>300 grams of flour<\/li>\n<li>1 tablespoon of baker\u2019s yeast<\/li>\n<li>1 small cup of vegetable oil<\/li>\n<li>1 cup of water<\/li>\n<li>1 teaspoon of aniseed<\/li>\n<li>1 cup of dry white wine<\/li>\n<li>1 teaspoon of salt<\/li>\n<li>1\/4\u00a0kilo of sugar<\/li>\n<li>Grated lemon<\/li>\n<li>Frying oil<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><b>Preparation<\/b><\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>On a clean table, put all the flour in one single round heap. In the centre, pour the yeast little by little and then with the tips of your fingers mix them together.<\/li>\n<li>Then add the cup of oil, the cup of water boiled with aniseed, wine and salt and blend it all well.<\/li>\n<li>Allow the dough to settle and then make circular shapes and fry them leaving plenty of room for each in the pan.<\/li>\n<li>When they are all fried, use \u00bc kg of sugar and water to make a syrup, adding grated lemon. Cover the pastries with the syrup.
