La Punta (as it is known locally) is the result of a volcanic episode that occurred after the formation of the Anaga Massif, giving rise to this low-lying island with a rocky coastline and an extensive intertidal zone of high biological value, which sets it apart from the rest of the northern coastline.<\/p>\n

Thanks to its accommodation options, including those right on the coastline, visitors can enjoy a pleasant, attractive and unique setting, with the modern lighthouse (from which a trail awarded the blue trail distinction starts) and the Roque de los Dos Hermanos rock formation as highlights in this setting.<\/p>\n

Special mention should be made of the natural swimming pool “El Arenisco”, which has been awarded the blue flag for the quality of its waters and its compliance with environmental regulations regarding health and safety infrastructure. Access to the pool is free all year round, as are the natural pools in the Furnias area and the pebble beaches that dot the coastline, El Arenal, El Roquete and Los Troches, traditionally used as bathing areas.<\/p>\n

In the vicinity of all these unique places, you can sample typical Canarian cuisine, with a wide variety of fresh fish and seafood served in traditional establishments such as the Cofrad\u00eda de Pescadores (Fishermen’s Guild), located next to the small harbour, which retains all the charm and fishing culture that has always characterised this area.[\/vc_column_text][vc_row_inner honour of the Virgin of Carmen de la Hoya, has undergone several renovations. It originally had a dome and bell tower, which were removed and replaced by a cross. It is noteworthy that the door and sides are made of glass.
