A traditional summer resort for the people of La Laguna, this fishing village enjoys an exceptional climate all year round thanks to the influence of the trade winds. Visitors can enjoy the natural seawater pools, which have been awarded the Blue Flag <\/strong>for the quality of their waters and their compliance with environmental regulations regarding health and safety infrastructure. Access to the pools is free all year round. With its iconic lighthouse as a guide, local activity revolves around them. <\/p>\n

The area is completed by the small Castillo beach, protected from the strong winter waves of the northern sea by a breakwater. This is where the Bajamar promenade begins, an accessible area that runs along the coast. The promenade can be extended from Punta del Viento, next to the Yacht Club, to the urbanised area of Laguna Mar. And in this family-friendly environment, we haven’t forgotten about the little ones, who can also have fun thanks to the children’s play areas in the town, which are adapted and accessible for all. <\/p>\n

The entire route is dotted with numerous natural pools, such as Charco Marianes, Charco La Laja and Charco Redondo, which have traditionally been used by local residents.<\/p>\n

It has served as a branch of the parish church of Punta de Hidalgo since 1960. It dates back to 1628 and was under the patronage of the governor and Captain General of the province of the Canary Islands, nephew of the founding sisters Mar\u00eda and Catalina de Vargas, daughters of Agust\u00edn Rengifo de Vargas. After the second half of the 17th century, it became the inheritance and patronage of the Tabares family. Small in size, quadrangular in shape, very low, and with a wooden roof, the main image is carved and dates from the time of its
